Zeitgeist's powers first manifested when he inadvertently disfigured a young girl's face at a beach party when he was a teenager. Later becoming X-Force's team leader, he still was unable to leave behind the pain and guilt, trying to bury it all under the trappings of fame.

He was one of five others killed in a botched rescue attempt of a popular music group when terrorists set off a missile when it was clear that X-Force was winning.
